This wickedly delicious little "amorality play" by Zoe Akins was published in 1913, produced in Los Angeles in 1916, and professionally staged in New York in 1919. Opening on 10 April 1919 at the Little Theatre, it ran a week and a half. John L. Shine played the charmingly effete title character, and Jobyna Howland brought her comedy skills to the role of one of his two daughters.
