(reigned c. 1202–1196 BC)
Throne name Userkheprure. Son of Merenptahof Dynasty 19. His claim to the throne was challenged by Amenmesse, and he only established himself after a civil war that weakened the dynasty. After a short reign, Sety II was followed by his son, Siptah, although power remained in the hands of his widow, Tewosret, and Bay. He was buried in tomb KV15 in the Valley of the Kings, and his body was recovered from the royal cache in the tomb of Amenhotep II in 1898.
