Throne name Userkhaure. Founder of Dynasty 20 of unknown origin. He overthrew the rule of Tewosret and claimed to have restored the land from the chaos that Bay had left when he fled the country. Arecently discovered stela in Luxor is dated to his year 4, indicating that he reigned at least three full years. He was succeeded by his son, Ramesses III. He was buried in tomb KV14in the Valley of the Kings, which he had taken over from Tewosret. His body may have been found in the royal cache in the tomb of Amenhotep II in 1898.
