The tomb of Ay of Dynasty 18 in the west valley of the Valley of the Kings. It was discovered by Giovanni Battista Belzoni in 1816 and reexamined by Otto Schaden in 1972. It has been suggested that it was originally destined for Tutankhamun but was taken over by Ay, who buried his predecessor in a lesser tomb. The king’s mummy has not been identified.
