The Hôtel Walckiers was built in the 1780s by architect Louis Montoyer following plans by Barnabe Guimard. Located at the corner of the place des Palais and rue Ducale, the town house was later incorporated into the Palais Royal under designs by Tilman-François Suys. In 1852, it became the property of the state and the offices of the Civil List are housed here.
