touch touch [tʌtʆ] verb [transitive]
touch base (with somebody) to telephone someone you work with, or visit them for a short time, while you are spending time somewhere else:

• I need to touch base with the office back in Boston.

   The best (highest) bid and (lowest) offer for a given security in the current market. This need not be the two-way price of one market maker but is taken by looking at the market prices submitted by all market makers.
