Paired glandular or storage organs of decapod crustaceans; digestive juices from midgut glands flow via tubules into the caudal (midgut) portion of the posterior chamber. Often called "fat," "liver," or tomally. (Syn. hepatopancreas or digestive glands) [Bliss, 1982].
