pericardial sinus
Space, bounded ventrally by a pericardial membrane, within which the heart lies [Holdich and Jones, 1983].

In circulatory system, elongate cavity surrounding heart. Blood collects within sinus and enters heart through ostia; separated from underlying hemocoel by pericardial septum [Stachowitsch, 1992].
