The High Renaissance Italian artist (full name Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni) who was probably influenced by Etruscan models for his depiction of the ferryman of the dead in the Last Judgment fresco in the Sistine Chapel in Rome (1535 to 1541).
