In 1935, Chun trademarked the Aloha shirt, a design in a tropical Hawaiian theme. The clothing styles of the 1930s were deeply influenced by Hollywood and the casual look became a cool form of dressing. The tropics became a dream lifestyle in sharp contrast to the difficult times that the Depression cast upon society.
