Androgynous look
This is the term given to fashion that is neither masculine nor feminine. Popularized in the 1970s with the glam rock and punk rock movement, followed in the 1980s with the grunge movement, and continuing in the new millennium with designer Hedi Slimane's bi-gender designs, androgynous dress continues to be a mainstay of the fashion industry. Stores like the Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, J. Crew, and Land's End were all founded on the unisex separates concept.
