(PAIS)
This anticopying group, headed by Armand Trouyet of Vion-net et Cie, formed in Paris in 1930. The organization succeeded in conducting counterfeiting raids and bringing about laws that pertained to the illegal copying of designs from the couture. A landmark case involving Vionnet and Chanel against copyist Suzanne Laneil ruled that couturières were entitled to the same copyright protection in France as artists and writers.
