This company was founded in 1945, in Italy, by Celine and Richard Vipianas as a children's footwear firm. It then expanded into high-end French footwear, women's sportswear, and menswear. In 1987, Bernard Arnault acquired the company and it became part of Moët Hennessey Louis Vuitton (LVMH) in 1994. The American designer Michael Kors designed for the firm from 1997 to 2004.
