A highly creative designer who heads the design team. He/she must possess a merchandising background, strong technical skills, and fabric sourcing knowledge and be able to communicate with sales and merchandising staff. In the publishing and advertising industries, a creative director is responsible for creative direction for magazines, catalogs, or other advertising vehicles. He/she must have strong graphic design skills, catalog/editorial layout know-how, graphic production experience, and a strong artistic understanding specific to the individual target market.
