Goldie
Goldie f
Jewish: Anglicized form of Yiddish Golde or Golda (borne, for example, by the former Israeli prime minister, Golda Meir, 1898–1978, who Hebraicized her name from Golda Meyerson). It was originally a nickname meaning ‘gold’. Occasionally it is a non-Jewish name, derived from an English nickname for a fair-haired person.
