Silvano m
Italian: from Latin SilvÄnus; see SILAS (SEE Silas). The name Silvanus was also borne by over a dozen other early saints, including a 6th-century abbot of Bangor in Ireland. In his case, the name is probably a classicized form of some faintly similar Celtic original.
Cognate: French: Sylvain.
