Byron m
English: transferred use of the surname, first bestowed as a given name in honour of the poet Lord Byron (George Gordon, 6th Baron Byron, 1784–1824). The surname derives from the Old English phrase æt ðǣm bỹrum ‘at the byres or cattlesheds’, and was given to someone who lived there because it was his job to look after cattle.
