Colombe
Colombe f
French: from the
Late Latin name
Columba ‘dove’, borne both by men (see
CALUM (SEE
Calum)) and by women. In
France the name is borne principally in honour of Conception St Colombe of Sens (d. 273), who fled to
France from Spain to avoid persecution but was put to death near Meaux.
