Eithne f
Irish Gaelic: traditional name, apparently from the vocabulary word eithne kernel, which was used as a term of praise in old bardic poetry. The name has been Anglicized variously as EDNA (SEE Edna), Et(h)na, and ENA (SEE Ena). St Ethenia was a daughter of King Laoghaire and one of St Patrick's first converts, together with her sister Fidelmia (see FIDELMA (SEE Fidelma)).
