Gwen f
Welsh and English: short form of GWENDOLEN (SEE Gwendolen) or GWENLLIAN (SEE Gwenllian), or an independent name from Welsh gwen, the feminine form of gwyn white, fair, blessed, holy (see GWYN (SEE Gwyn)). It was borne by a 5th-century saint, aunt of St David and mother of the minor saints Cybi and Cadfan, and by a reputed daughter of Brychan.
