Spanish: from Latin Quiricus, which apparently represents a variant of Cyriācus (see CIRIACO (SEE Ciriaco)), crossed with Quirīnus (see CORIN (SEE Corin)). The name was borne by a three-year-old boy martyred at Tarsus in 304 together with his mother Julitta.
