microtelepsia
   The term microtelepsia comes from the Greek words mikros (small), tèlè (far), and opsis (seeing). It refers to a variant of *dysmetropsia in which the perceived size and distance of objects is altered, in the sense that objects are perceived as smaller and further away than they are. Microtelepsia may present as an isolated symptom, as part of an *aura, or as part of a cluster of symptoms called the * Alice in Wonderland syndrome. Etiologically, it is associated with a variety of conditions, including epileptic seizures, migraine, * delirium, * delirium tremens, alcohol withdrawal, toxoplasmosis or typhoid infections, mesencephalic lesions, and intoxication with * hallucinogens such as LSD andmescaline.
