The term refers to the bridges across the Jordan River between Jordan and the West Bank and Israel as well as to the links between Israel and Jordan developed after the Six-Day War (1967). Moshe Dayan, who was minister of defense, allowed the shipment of goods (mostly agricultural produce) and later the crossing of people between the two sides of the river.
