MYOJO
Myojo (Venus) was a poetry journal established by Yosano Tekkan in 1900 that ran until 1908 (100 issues). Yosano brought together the talents of Kitahara Hakushu, Yoshii Isamu, Ishikawa Takuboku, and future wife Yosano Akiko in hopes of revitalizing Japanese poetry through revolutionizing tanka. The magazine was popular among young poets, but was largely rejected in literary circles.
