Guggenheim, Peggy
(1898-1979)
   American art patron. The daughter of Meyer Guggenheim's son Benjamin, she had an important influence on modern art in Europe and the US. During the 1920s and 1930s she lived in Europe and opened the Guggenheim Jeune Gallery in London. When the Nazis invaded France, she shipped her collection to New York. Later she returned to Europe.
