Hess, Myra
(1890-1965)
   British pianist. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and at the Royal Academy of Music. She converted to Christianity but remained proud of her background. She devoted herself to teaching and performing and made tours of the US and Canada. During the war she appeared at the Myra Hess midday concerts held in the National Gallery in London.
