Ibn Aknin, Joseph ben Judah
(1150-1220)
   North African philosopher and poet. He was born in Barcelona and moved to North Africa, where he lived as a crypto-Jew. He wrote studies of Jewish law and philosophy. He should not be confused with Maimonides' disciple Joseph ben Judah ibn Shimon who is also referred to as Ibn Aknin.
