Italian writer and painter. Born in Turin, he studied to be a doctor, but embarked on a career as a painter. He exhibited at the Venice biennial festival in 1924 and 1926. In 1934 he was arrested for his political activities and sent to Basilicata. His works include Cristo si e fermato a Eboli and Corragio dei miti: scritti contem-poranei, 1922-1974.
