Mann, Jacob
(1888-1940)
   American scholar. He was born in Galicia. He studied in London, and subsequently taught history at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. He utilized genizah material in a series of studies on the history and literature of the gaonic period. His publications include The Jews of Palestine and Egypt Under the Fatimids, Texts and Studies in Jewish History and Literature and The Bible as Read and Preached in the Old Synagogue.
