Lithuanian Hebrew lyric poet and artist. He was born near Vilna, and studied art there. In 1880 he became a student at the Academy of Arts in St Petersburg, and began to write poems and articles. He later went to Warsaw, where he designed the covers for anthologies of works by Nahum Sokolow and Saul Phinehas Rabinowitz. His poem MasatNafshi expresses his longing for Palestine.
