Markon, Isaac Dov Ber
(1875-1949)
   Russian scholar and librarian. Born in Rybinsk on the Volga, he was a professor of Jewish studies at the University of St Petersburg, and later professor at the Belorussian University at Minsk. In 1926 he settled in Berlin. Expelled from Germany in 1938, he went to Holland and then England, where he joined the Montefiore College in Ramsgate. His publications deal with Karaite history and literature and associated topics.
