(1874-1933)
Austrian rabbi and scholar, son of Joseph Perles. He was active in the Zionist movement in Vienna. In 1899 he became a rabbi at Konigsberg and taught at the university there. He wrote studies of Bible criticism, Hebrew and Aramaic lexicography, apocryphal and pseudepigraphical literature, medieval Hebrew poetry, liturgy and Jewish dialectics.
