Schreiner, Martin
(1863-1926)
   Hungarian scholar. He was born in Nagyvarad. He was a rabbi in Csurgo (1887-92), and an instructor at the Jewish Teachers Training Institute in Budapest (1892-4). From 1894 to 1902 he was a professor at the Lehranstalt fur die Wissenschaft des Judentums in Berlin. He spent the rest: of his life in a sanatorium. He wrote studies of the Islamic influence on medieval Jewish thought, interfaith polemics, Jewish philosphy and Karaism.
