Strieker, Robert
(1879-1944)
   Austrian Zionist leader and journalist. He was born in Brünn, and became an engineer for Austrian state railways. Before World War I he edited the Vienna Judische Zeitung, and in 1915 he founded the Jewish War Archives. He became president of the Jewish People's Party, and in 1919 was elected to the Constituent National Assembly of the Federal Austrian Republic. From 1919 to 1928 he edited the Wiener Morgenzeitung and later Die Neue Welt. In 1931 he joined the Union of Zionist Revisionists, then in 1933 was one of the founders of the Jewish State Party.
