Israeli cellist, composer and historian, of Ukrainian origin. He worked as a cellist in Switzerland and in Vienna, where he contributed essays on Jewish music to the periodical Die Stimme. In 1938 he settled in Palestine. He organized concerts of Jewish music in Tel Aviv. He composed works for cello, numerous songs, and arrangements of folk songs. He also engaged in historical research on Hasidic musicians.
