American mathematician. Born in Columbia, Missouri, he was the son of Leo Wiener, a professor of Slavic studies at Harvard. He studied at Tufts and later at Harvard. He taught at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His works include Ex-Prodigy: My Childhood, The Human Use of Human Beings, Cybernetics and The Tempest.
