Winchevsky, Morris
(1856-1933)
   Lithuanian Yiddish poet and essayist. His activities as a socialist agitator led to his being imprisoned and banished from Germany and Denmark. He moved to London in 1879, and later lived in New York. He wrote poetry for Yiddish periodicals; he is regarded as the founder of Yiddish socialist literature.
