Yehudai
(fl. 8th cent.)
Babylonian gaon. He was born in Pumbedita. He succeeded Solomon bar Hasdai as head of the Sura academy in 757 and served until 761. He entered into relations with Jewish communities in North Africa, and attempted to enforce Babylonian usages in Palestine. His code of the law, Halakhot Pesukot, was written down for him by his pupils, since he was blind.
