American composer, organist, pianist and educator. He was born in Brest-Litovsk, Belorussia, and went to the US as a child. He taught at music schools in Philadelphia and New York, and at the Hart School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. He also served as an organist and choir director in several temples. His work includes the book Harmonizing the Jewish Modes.
