Freimann, Aron
(1871 -1944)
   German scholar, son of Israel Meir Freimann. He was born in Filehne, in the province of Posen. He worked at the municipal library in Frankfurt am Main, where he assembled a large collection of Judaica and Hebraica. After the Nazis came to power, he emigrated to the US. Between 1939 and 1945 he served as consultant to the New York Public Library. He was the author and editor of books and articles about Jewish history, culture and bibliography.
