   1) (fl. ?13th cent, BCE)
   Israelite priest, eldest son of Aaron. With his brother Abihu, he ascended Mount Sinai to behold God's revelation (Exodus 24:1-11). Later they made a fire sacrifice on the altar against God's will and were struck dead by fire as punishment (Leviticus 10:1-3).
   2) (fl. 10th cent BCE)
   King of Israel (907-906 BCE), son and successor of Jeroboam I. He and the House of Jeroboam were assassinated by Baasha (I Kings 15:25-31).
