Israelite woman, daughter of
Jacob and
Leah. She was raped by Shechem. Jacob's sons
Simeon and
Levi avenged their sister by slaughtering the male poplulaton of the town of Shechem, carrying off their women and children, and taking their goods and livestock as spoil (Genesis 34).
