Ahaziah
   1) (fl. 9th cent BCE)
King of Israel (853-852 BCE). He was influenced by his mother, Jezebel, who introduced the cult of Baal into Israel. He was injured in a fall from an upper chamber in his palace and asked for an oracle from Baal-Zebub; Elijah reproved him and prophesied his death (II Kings 1:2-17).
   2) (fl. 9th cent BCE)
King of Judah (842-841 BCE). He and Jehoram, King of Israel, went to war against Hazael, King of Aram (II Kings 8:28-29; II Chronicles 22:5-6). When Jehoram was injured in battle, Ahaziah visited him in Jezreel. Both kings were assassinated by Jehu (II Kings 9:27-28; II Chronicles 22:9).
