National Indicator Set (NIS)

A set of 198 National Indicators introduced following the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review in 2007. Since 1 April 2008 the NIS has been the only set of indicators by which local authorities are assessed, replacing all other existing sets of indicators, including Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPI) and Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) indicators.
