Ba·cil·la·les (bas″ĭ-laґlēz) an order of gram-positive, endospore-forming bacteria of the class Bacilli; medically important organisms are included in the families Bacillaceae, Listeriaceae, Paenibacillaceae, Planococcaceae, Staphylococcaceae, and Thermoactinomycetaceae.
