In cephalometrics, the point of intersection of the external dorsal contour of the mandibular condyle and the temporal bone; the midpoint is used when a profile radiograph shows double projections of the rami.

ar·tic·u·la·re (ahr-tik″u-larґe) a craniometric landmark used in radiographic cephalometry, being the point of intersection of the posterior margin of the ascending ramus of the mandible and the shadow of the cranial base, as seen on the lateral x-ray of the head. Called also point Ar.
