galactocerebroside
ga·lac·to·ce·re·bro·side (gə-lak″to-sə-reґbro-sīd″) any of the cerebrosides in which the monosaccharide head group is galactose; they are abundant in the cell membranes of nervous tissue, particularly the myelin sheath, and in the kidney, and they accumulate abnormally in Krabbe disease.
