nucleus lentiformis
[TA] lentiform nucleus: the part of the corpus striatum somewhat resembling a biconvex lens, divided into an external, larger, lateral part (putamen) and an internal, smaller, medial part (globus pallidus). The globus in turn is divided into lateral and medial segments by the internal medullary lamina; the medial segment may be subdivided into lateral and medial parts by the accessory medullary lamina. Called also lenticular n.
