monorchism
A condition in which only one testis is apparent, the other being absent or undescended. SYN: monorchia, monorchidism. [mono- + G. orchis, testis]

absence of one testis. This is usually due to failure of one testicle to descend into the scrotum before birth. The term is sometimes used for the condition in which one testicle has been removed surgically or destroyed by injury or disease. If the single testis is normal, no adverse effects result from the absence of the other.
