utric·u·lus (u-trikґu-ləs) pl. utricґuli [L., dim. of uter] a small sac. [TA] utricle: the larger of the two vestibular sacs, located in the posterosuperior region of the vestibule. It is the major organ of the vestibular system, which gives information about position and movements of the head. Called also u. vestibularis.
